What is the Paleo Diet PlanThe Paleo diet is a food plan that is growing in popularity. It’s high in protein and low in simple carbohydrates. It satisfies your appetite so you’re less likely to crave junk food; and, it emphasizes eating naturally wholesome food, much like how the caveman ate. Grains, dairy, legumes and processed sugars are not included in this eating plan.

So, to eat similarly to how the cavemen would have eaten, we first must choose foods that are grown as close to nature as possible and are compatible with our digestive system.

The cavemen did not eat chemically sprayed, hormone ingested or fertilized foods. The foods they hunted and gathered, from pure, natural lands, were super nutritious and fed the cells of their bodies.

Taken from the eating habits of our ancient ancestors from over 10000 years ago, this way of eating is intended to be natural using foods that are organically grown, meals that are simple to prepare and easy to add to a modern lifestyle.

Unnatural foods and ones that are harmful to our digestive tract are not included. The eating habits of our ancient ancestors were simple and the food they ate was basically found just outside their living spaces, close by in their environment. They were foods without any harmful agents added at all.

For perfect health, a lean body and an active, energetic lifestyle, this diet promotes eating nutrient laden foods that are grown or raised in mineral rich soil and close to the environment in which we live.

History of The Paleo Diet  

During the Paleolithic Age to about 10,000 years ago, food that was hunted and gathered fed people in a healthy way and kept them naturally strong, lean and relatively free from chronic diseases and the health problems that plague societies today.

High in animal protein, and low in carbohydrates, the food list does not include processed sugars. Sweeteners during the Paleolithic Age were natural and found in foods like berries, fruits, saps and honey. High on the list are wholesome, nutrient rich vegetables and fresh fruits; excluded are potatoes, lentils, grains and dairy.

People who choose this method of eating are choosing a lifestyle rather than a forced diet. It isn’t for everyone, but a wide variety of eating options makes it an ideal choice for:

    I’ve been gaining a lot of weight and would like to lose it, I think the paleo diet will help me. Even just cutting out the gluten loaded breads and cookies will do me justice I think!
